Large crowds participate in the Prairie Fire Marathon

Hundreds of runners hit the streets of Wichita to compete in the Prairie Fire Wichita Marathon on Sunday, October 13, 2013.

The race kicked-off with the Full Marathon (26.2 Miles) and Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) at 7:30 AM. The event also included a 5K run, youth marathon, and a walk. 

The 26.2 mile route took runners through the heart of some of downtown Wichita’s great landmarks and growing residential areas.

The route included the following areas: College Hill, Central Business District, Eastborough, Riverside, Old Town, Old Cowtown, Keeper of the Plains, and the Arkansas River.
