Award winning painter Hugh Greer will be the guest artist at Gallery XII's Final Friday reception on November 29. Greer will show 16 of his latest original acrylic paintings.
Greer, a Wichita native, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Kansas. He has won several awards, including:
- First Place at 2013 Great Plains Nature Center's Art on the Trail
- 2013 National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic Inc. Award for Family Cycle
- 2013 Missouri Artist Award from Watercolor Missouri International for Mystery Road
- 2012 Best of Show in the Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition for Indian Summer Takes a Turn
Gallery XII's Final Friday reception is from 5:30-10:00 p.m. on November 29. All of Greer's paintings will be up for sale. Christmas cards with Greer's painting of Wichita's Union Station depicted in the 1930s will also be available for purchase. All the proceeds from the Christmas cards will go directly to Independent Living Resource Center, a local nonprofit that provides support and services to people with disabilities.
