Firehouse Subs invites the community to the grand opening of its first location in Wichita on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013.
The restaurant is located at 8007 East Kellogg Drive and is open from Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The fast casual restaurant chain is best-known for serving premium meats and cheeses piled on a toasted sub roll, with fresh produce and condiments. The restaurant was founded by former firefighting brothers, Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, and is a brand built on decades of fire and police service
Each Firehouse Subs restaurant features a custom, hand-painted mural that pays tribute to the local community. Wichita’s Firehouse Subs’ mural depicts the iconic Keepers of the Plains, steel sculpture, in the distance with a firefighter from the Wichita Fire Department mimicking the statue.
Some of the most popular Firehouse Subs to tryout include their signature Hook & Ladder® sub, Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket™, Sweet Baby Ray’s® Barbecue Sauce, and the New York Steamer®.
Also unique to Firehouse Subs is Captain Sorensen’s® Datil Pepper Hot Sauce, which has a spicy-sweet flavor from the datil pepper, a hot pepper similar to habaneros but with a sweeter taste. Additionally, each restaurant offers an assortment of 50+ complimentary hot sauces.
The new restaurant will also include a special touch-screen operated Coca-Cola Freestyle® fountain, which offers 120+ sparkling and still beverage brands with 70+ regular and low-calorie options. Choices include the top selling non-carbonated fountain drink, Cherry Lime-Aid® and Cherry Lime-Aid Light®, exclusive original recipes by Firehouse Subs, served with fresh squeezed lime.
