On Thursday, June 5, enjoy some traditional Louisiana cuisine prepared by local chefs at Goodwill Industries 28th Annual Cajun Food Fest.

For close to three decades, the annual event has been a part of the Wichita River Festival.

This year’s Cajun-inspired menu includes chicken etouffee, shrimp gumbo with rice, red beans and sausage, a French bread roll, and bread pudding for dessert. Meals are $7.00 and the bread pudding dessert is an additional $3.00.

A special "Big Easy Concert," featuring singer Kelley Hunt, will be the live entertainment for the evening. The concert begins at 5:00 PM and is provided by Wichita Riverfest.

Proceeds from this event will go towards advancing the mission of Goodwill Industries of Kansas, which focuses on employment training for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

“We always look forward Cajun Food Fest for the delicious food, live music and upbeat atmosphere,” says Molly Fox, Vice President of Marketing & Development, “the best part is that the proceeds will help people right here in Kansas gain employment.”

Event sponsors include KWCH, Bank of America, B98 FM, Don and Lora Barry, Westar Energy, Jody & Blair Horner, Dondlinger Construction and Foulston Siefkin, LLP.
