Botanica’s spectacular annual light display, Illuminations, is now open to the public. The holiday event opened on Friday, November 29, and will be open every night until December 31 (except on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

Illuminations features over hundreds of thousands of lights spread throughout eleven acres of beautiful gardens, making it one of the largest holiday light displays in Kansas.

New features to this year’s event includes expanded light shows, over 200+ illuminated trees and structures, 20 gigantic metal flowers, Led stick lights that change colors, a snowflake lounge, 20 foot glowing arches near  the Downing Children’s Garden and a monster tree with a glowing red nose.

Every night features a different musical group, making each night a special experience.

Botanica continues some of its annual traditional lighting that profiles the garden’s main building, cottage and arbors, butterfly garden, and kid-inspired displays in the Downing Children’s Garden. Also returning this year will be hot drinks, cookies and candy for sale, and photos with Santa.

Tickets cost $7 for adults ($6 for Botanica members), and $5 for children (3-12). Children 3 and under are free. Group rates are available upon request.

Parking is available across the street from the Mid-America All-Indian Center on Friday and Saturday nights. Shuttles will pick-up guests every 5 minutes and commute to Botanica.
