An opportunity for community members to help support their favorite local arts organizations is now available, thanks to a brand new fundraising event in Wichita.

“Art Day of Giving (ArtDOG),” Wichita’s first-ever 24-hour online charitable fundraising campaign for local arts organizations,  will provide a great opportunity for the Wichita community to raise awareness and funds for the local arts scene.

The Wichita Community Foundation (WCF), along with the help from The Arts Council, will be hosting this inaugural event, which will take place from midnight to 11:59 PM on Friday, February 28, 2014.

During this 24-hour period, donations can be made online to the arts organization of your choice. All you have to do is visit and enter the name of your favorite nonprofit into the search bar, click “donate” and enter the appropriate donation information. A minimum donation of $10.00 is required.

A total of 39 nonprofit arts organizations in Wichita signed-up to receive online donations. The complete list of registered ‘ArtDOG’ organizations can be found HERE.

The overall goal of ArtDOG is to inspire Wichita residents to increase financial support of their favorite local arts organizations, encourage the arts organizations to learn how to use digital tools to generate funds, and to build community awareness of the current needs for these organizations.
