(ULYSSES, Kan.) -

A pilot is able to walk away unhurt, after his crop duster crashes in Grant County.

Grant County undersheriff Chad Harmon says the plane went down Wednesday evening near the intersection of north Road E and west Road 5, which is northwest of the town of Ulysses.

The undersheriff says the plane went down in a cornfield. The plane caught fire, but the pilot was able to walk away.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is now heading up the investigation.
