Hammer X Golf Driver: Does it Work?
(WICHITA, Kan.) -

Want to improve your golf game, but without private lessons? The Hammer-X could help supercharge your swing.

The product claims to be the world's longest driver, adding 50-yards to your drive. It sells for $99, plus shipping and handling.

Tyler Bolin, assistant golf professional at Crestview Country Club, helped KWCH Sports Anchor Grant Meech test the Hammer-X. Tyler first recorded Grant's drives with a personal driver with the flight scope. Grant then tested the Hammer-X three times.

"Well, even though the smash wasn't as good, the Hammer carried it farther [it farther] and he hit it straighter," Tyler said.

Tyler also tested the Hammer-X. He said a golfer would struggle to control where the ball goes because the shaft is very flexible. But he would recommend this for some players.

"For your senior golfers or your lady golfers that haven't played a lot of golf, it could be very good for them," Tyler said.

Does it work?

"It hits it far. It just could hit it everywhere," Tyler said.

"Exactly. It works, sometimes," Grant said.

We spoke with the United States Golf Association. A spokesman said the Hammer-X would not be allowed under the rules of golf.
