WichitaKS -

It's a machine that is supposed to turn a regular marker into a spectacular spray.

The Crayola Marker Airbrush claims that any marker can be used to spray on designs. The kit includes the sprayer, some paper, stencils, washable markers, and fabric markers, all for $21.43. Students from the Creative Child Center Preschool at the Wichita Center for the Arts tested the product.

Kristi Seyler, parent, helped her artist, Breckyn, assemble the product. She pumped the spraying machine because she didn't think Breckyn was strong enough. She tried the sprayer, but nothing came out. The instructions said the pump needed to be locked down before spraying.

"Oh, it works," Kristi said.

But after about one design, Kristi had to flex more muscle. Then it was back to more spraying.

Our testers tackled t-shirts next. When the designs are done, Kristi was, too. The box says "kid powered, no batteries needed."

But should it say, mom powered?

"Probably mom powered," Kristi said.

Does it work?

"Yes. I think so," Kristi said.

The "Marker Airbrush" is recommended for kids ages six and up. So, if you have an older child, he or she might be able to handle the pumping better.
